BOTOX, DYSPORT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Botox, as well as Dysport injections work by temporarily reducing the muscle activity in order to treat and prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Squinting, smiling or frowning are some of facial expressions that imitate muscle contractions causing the fine lines to appear more prominent over time.
Even though both injections are forms of botulinum toxin A, the formulas are slightly different. Because the molecules in Dysport are smaller than BOTOX, it provides visible results faster than BOTOX. Dysport also spreads over a larger area, which is beneficial for treating some facial conditions and not others.
On the other hand, BOTOX is more concentrated than Dysport, which means the two compounds are measured differently. For example, if you have had BOTOX in the past, you will need to increase the number of units with Dysport.

Dysport and BOTOX rely on carefully formulated strains of botulinum toxin, which works blocks the nerves. This process reduces activity in the muscles that allow us to frown or smile. After the injection, these muscles remain at rest, softening the entire complexion and reducing wrinkles. Your friends may even comment that you look well-rested after a BOTOX or Dysport treatment.
During your appointment, your provider will numb your injection sites with a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort. BOTOX or Dysport is then injected into your skin using a very fine needle. Each injection session takes approximately 10=15 minutes. And results are fully realized in about 3-5 days.
