MICROBLADING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As with all cosmetic procedures, individuals should not make their choices lightly. Our microblading San Antonio cosmetic tattoo artist creates realistic and natural looking eyebrows. You will also be able to view the artist’s portfolio of different brow techniques. Before any work is done, you must first schedule a consultation to discuss your brow goals.
For the first microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5-3 hours. During this session, your brow technician will shape and style your brows for your approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once you are satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure.
A microblading touch-up is the second part of the procedure. It allows your brow technician to refresh the color tones, correct any irregularities in the hair strokes, and further refine your brows. It is included in the initial cost of your brow procedure and takes place 4 to 6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

Your eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear dark. There’s no cause for concern as this is part of the healing process, and color will fade up to 40% as it heals. You will also notice slight scabbing in the following days. So, do not pick at the scabs as this may damage your skink and the outcome of the microbladed area.

As your brows heal, the color will lighten up. No downtime is required after your microblading procedure. In general, it takes about 7-14 days for your brows to heal, and close to 1 month for the color to fully set in.

After the 2 weeks healing time, you’ll notice the color is light, and your skin may have an opaque milky look. Your brow technician will provide you with aftercare instructions, which you should follow to the letter.

The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone’s pain level is different. Depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything.

After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. You may want to take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.

Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and age. Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment. Patients who tan, uses products with AHA or glycolic acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary. To keep your brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note that it will result in a slight shadow.

IS MICROBLADING
RIGHT FOR ME?

Microblading uses a specialized hand controlled method to implant pigments into the upper layers of the skin in order to mimic real eyebrow hair. This procedure is ideal for someone with sparse eyebrows and wants to achieve fuller, natural looking eyebrows.
We offer three different techniques for eyebrow procedures. Microblading, Soft Powder-Filled and Nano brows. Each technique has it’s own unique set of criteria, which will help to determine whether you are a good candidate for it or not. We specialize in each of the three techniques.
